A Royal Birthday Bash - Petra's 1st Birthday Party
There's a lot of talk of unicorns and rainbows around the Crib, but I want you to know that Mommy is capable of pretty much anything! (But aren't we all?!) I'm so excited to share with you some beautiful photos of my friend Petra's 1st birthday party. Petra is three years my senior. When Mommy created stationery for her first birthday three years ago it really gave her some inspiration as to how birthday parties SHOULD be thrown...with glitz, glam, precious details, and a whole lotta HEART! Mommy has seen sweet Petra grow up through designing all her party invitations over the years. I hear she loves anything with kitties on them. She calls them "meows". Pretty sure that makes Miss Petra the perfect Kitty Meow ambassador, don't ya think!?
This invitation all started with a beautiful silhouette that Petra's Mommy had made for her. To be honest, the actual invitation was a huge 12x18 poster that folded into 12 segments with pictures from each month of her first year. That bad boy was pretty difficult to photograph, but I wanted to highlight some of the main details.
Petra is no ordinary little lady! She really wanted something fancy and not like your typical first birthday invitation. With a color palette of blush, azalea pink, and gold Mommy paired a beautiful script font with a serif font for contrast. Princess Petra's silhouette was used on as many design elements as possible to act as her logo for the event.
From the moment guests entered the venue is was obvious this would be a first birthday party for a little queen! Using her custom silhouette, Mommy made an 18x24 sign that was mounted on foam core and laminated. Petra's Mommy really took it to the next level with a beautiful oversized balloon wrapped in gorgeous tulle. Plus, the ballon was held down by a sweet floral arrangement. It's all about the details, friends! Petra's Mommy did not miss any of them.

A royal celebration is not complete without a beautiful table setting. Gold foil doilies were used under a pink table cloth and bow folded napkin. Every guest got their own Cinderella glass slipper to take home with them as a momento. So darn sweet!

Each table also had a beautiful candellabra flower centerpiece from Choles Foral. The hanging crystals really add that something special!

Now for some of the really FUN stuff...party decor! Does your Mommy make you take milestone photos every year? The perfect way to get the most use out of those pics is to showcase them at your birthday party. Petra's Mommy did such a beautiful job of displaying them in beautiful gold frames to add to the decor. I'm totally stealing this idea for my unicorn bash!
Some people might think party favors are a waste, but my Mommy tells me they are a necessary evil. If you do them right they can be a total win and your guests will feel super special. There's no denying Petra's Mommy knows how to tackle party favors RIGHT! Tutus, crowns, and wands "oh my!" for all the little ladies. Knights in shining armor were not forgotten. The little gentlemen in attendance received gold crowns. So adorable!!
Sometimes the BEST party decor is practical stuff you can use again. I'm totally digging on these beautiful blush and gold tutus hung with gold clothes pins. Maybe Mommy can find some ones in different pastel colors for my party!
What's a party without sweet treats?! These desserts were created by Cupcakes a GoGo and are oh so lovely. Cupcakes and cake pops truly fit for a queen and her court!

So that's a wrap, friends! I wasn't even born yet, but I really enjoyed reminiscing with you on the sweet details of Princess Petra's 1st Royal Birthday Bash! It's a true testament that with a little TLC and a LOVE for details your birthday party will be a huge success. It's about the guest of honor, but remember it's also about the attendees. Everyone should get those warm fuzzy feelings of specialness!!!
